KNUTSFORD FC’s fortnight of semi-finals were brought to a stuttering halt by the weather at the weekend.
Reds were due to visit Crossford Bridge in Altrincham last Saturday to face Old Alts in the Cheshire Amateur Cup semi-final.
And then this Saturday they were scheduled to face Winsford Town in the Mid Cheshire District Cup semi-final at Witton Albion’s U Lock It Stadium, formerly known as Wincham Park.
But last weekend’s last-four contest was called off on Saturday morning due to a waterlogged pitch, leaving no time to find an alternative available pitch.
And that tie now takes precedent over the Mid Cheshire District Cup semi-final, so this Saturday Knutsford and Old Alts will try again at Crossford Bridge, kick-off 2pm.
The MCDC semi-final away to Winsford Town will need to be rescheduled.
Meanwhile, Knutsford, who are on a five-match winning run in all competitions, have not played a game other than a friendly for a month.
As a result, they have dropped to eighth in Cheshire League One but have games to catch up on many of the sides above them.
